Tasty homemade strawberry cake using fresh strawberries. The only cake my kids ever want for their birthday cake!
To prepare cake, combine cake mix, jello, oil and water and beat with an electric mixer. Then beat eggs in one at a time. Once all eggs are added, beat for an additional 2 minutes. Beat in strawberries with mixer. Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9 or three 8-9 inch round cake pans (or cupcake papers). Bake cakes at 350? for 20-25 minutes. Bake cupcakes at 350 for time suggested on white cake mix box for cupcakes. Will make around 30ish cupcakes.
For frosting, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the salt and strawberries and blend well. Spread over the cooled cake. ½ cup chopped nuts can be added to the frosting if desired.
