A quick and easy winter dessert.


3 Apple
3 Rhubarb sticks
1 teaspoon Lemon juice; or Lime juice
1 cup Plain flour
3/4 cup Brown sugar
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Vanilla
125 gram Margarine

Original recipe makes 4 Servings



Peel and core apples. Slice apple and rhubarb and place in one large dish, or individual ramekins.

Add a dash of lime or lemon juice.

Mix dry ingredients. Work through vanilla essence and margarine.

Cover fruit with crumble mixture.

Bake in moderate oven at 180C for 20 minutes.


Serve with icecream, double cream or custard.

Tasty and very easy! I would assume that the cooking time would vary with the size of dish used - took around 40 minutes for me.
