Not a health food for sure. Family and firehouse favorite. Cheap and easy also. Very easy to double for more people.
Cut the bacon into 1/2-1 inch squares. Fry the bacon in a pan until the meat starts to darken and stiffen up. Slice the onion and add to the bacon once the bacon has stated to change color. Fry until the onions are brown. Drain the fat from the pan and add the balsalmic. While that is heating cut the ends off the asparagus. Place the asparagus on the top the the bacon and onions but do not mix together. Cover and steam for approx 5 min. Then mix together and serve.
