In a mixing bowl combine the butter and sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides periodically. Add the orange zest and juice then beat in the eggs one at a time then stir in the vanilla.
Gently mix in the already sifted baking powder salt and flour once the flour is incorporated fold in the nuts and mix.
Divide the dough into two logs and place on baking sheet with parchment paper.
Bake for about 30 minutes until a little brown and firm. Cool and then slice in about 1/2 inch wide slices. Place on baking sheet cut side down and bake for about 12 minutes then turn and bake for 4 minutes until golden.
