Suggest a better descriptioncombine 1st.7 ingrediences in saucepan, stir and bring to a boil over medium heat and boil 5 min. Let cool. Then add vanilla. Add the flour, soda and salt mixture & at the same time add cut up cherries & nuts at least a 1/2 cup each. I also add a cup regular raisins. Pour batter into a greased & floured tube pan and bake in 350 oven 1 1/2 hrs.
