Suggest a better descriptionIn a large saucepan, combine 6 cups apple cider, 1/2 cup light brown sugar, 1 (2-inch) piece stick cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg and 1/2 teaspoon ginger. Push 12 whole cloves into rinds of 2 oranges, sliced, and 2 lemons, sliced, using 2 cloves per slice. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring only to dissolve sugar. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 5 minutes. Makes 6 cups. NOTE: If apple cider is not available, apple juice (canned, bottled or frozen, reconstituted) may be substituted.
