Chili
Heat oil and saute garlic and onion until light golden, about 7 to 9 minutes. Add chili powder, cayenne pepper and paprika. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Add ground beef and sausages and cook, stirring, until evenly browned. Stir in remaining ingredients except flour and bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour. Mix massa and flour with a little water and pour into chili and simmer for an additional 30 minutes covered or uncovered. Discard bay leafs.
Makes 6 quarts. Use at lease 8.5 quart pot.
