Combine oats, flour, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Cut in softened margarine until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
If you want to crisp it up, remove stoneware from crockpot and broil it for 6-7 minutes.
Serve with ice cream, whipped cream, or whipped topping.
