This is a fruit pie that is easy to make and delicious. I planted blackberry bushes in my backyard and I love it when they are ready to harvest. I pick them and freeze them until I am ready to use them in my pies or canning. You can use canned berries for this recipe as well.
In a small bowl, add the cinnamon and 1 Tablespoon of the sugar; mix well and set aside.
Clean, rinse, and dry the berries. Preheat oven to 375F degrees.
In a medium-size mixing bowl, add the remaining sugar and the flour; mix well. Add the fresh berries (or canned) and 1 Tblsp. of fresh squeezed lemon juice. Mix well and pour into unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle with the cubes of butter. Top with remaining crust; crimp crust edge to seal. Cut 4-5 slots in the top and sprinkle with the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Cover crust edge with protector.
Bake for 15 minutes; reduce heat to 350F degrees and continue to bake for 1 hour or until golden brown. Remove and let it rest for 30 minutes before cutting. Serve hot or cold with your favorite topping or ice cream. Yum!
