A wonderful, crowd-pleasing breakfast/brunch casserole. It's perfect for the holidays when the main meal will be served much later in the day. This casserole is easy to prepare. Just refrigerate overnight and bake the next day. Simple and delicious. Original recipe modified for my family
In a small bowl, beat the eggs. Add half and half and green onions, mixing well. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
Butter a 12 inch by 10 inch baking pan. Line the bottom with the bread slices, breaking up to fit if necessary. Sprinkle the bread with the cooked sausage and grated cheese. Pour the egg mixture over the entire pan. Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook covered 25-30 minutes or until egg mixture is set.
