They're churros
Equipment:
- Candy Thermometer
- Piping bag and wide star tip
- Thick pot
- Stand mixer (with attachment: hard white thing with big holes in it)
- Scissors
- Wire Scoop (Spider?)
Initial Mix:
- Mix items listed in "Initial Mix"
- Bring to a rolling boil, stirring gently
- Turn off heat
Dough:
- Add flour, stirring vigerously
- When mixed well, turn on medium heat
- Stir vigorously until dough starts to pull away from the pan (~30 seconds)
- Dump into a stand mixer while still hot, let it cool a little bit
Churro Dough:
- Run mixer on medium speed
- Add eggs (3-4) until dough is a nice silky consistency
- Add vanilla
Toppings:
- Mix the sugar coating and the dip, microwave the dip when you're ready to eat it, it only takes ~30 seconds
Deep Fry:
- Heat up the oil to 370 degrees
- Put churro dough into piping bag and push into pot, cut at appropriate lengths (3-4 inches)
- Cook for ~90 seconds or until golden brown, flip halfway through
- Let rest on paper towels for 30 seconds (they will be very hot), then roll in the sugar coating
