Suggest a better description1. Preheat over to 350. Whisk together brown sugar, molasses, boiling water, and cubes butter in a medium bow until butter melts.. Whisk in baking soda and salt. Let stand until lukewarm, about 25 minutes. Whisk in egg.
2. Whisk together flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, and black pepper in a small bowl; add to brown sugar mixture, and whisk until smooth. Pour in t a generously greased (with butte or cooking spray) and flour 9 inch square pan.
3. Bake in preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean 20-25 minutes. Cool in pay 10 minutes. Transfer gingerbread to a wire rack, and cool completely, about 1 hour. For the best texture, warp tightly in plastic wrap or place in airtight container, and let stand at room temperature overnight before serving.) Store in an airtight contain up to 3 days.
4. Jut before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar and cut into squares.
Brown Sugar and Ginger Whipped Cream
Beat 1 cup cold heavy cream in a chilled bowl with an electric mixer on high speed until soft peaks form, about 5 minutes. Add brown sugar, ginger and vanilla. Beat until stiff peaks form, about 3 more minutes. Cover and chill 1 hour before serving.
