Classic corn chowder flavored with bacon
Fry bacon until crisp. Drain, crumble and set aside. In drippings, cook onions until soft. Add vegetables, salt, pepper and 1/1/2 cups broth. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer 15-209 minutes. Blend flour and remaining broth. Add to vegetables. Cook and stir until slightly thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat. Add milk and heat thoroughly but do not boil. Top with bacon.
