While pasta is boiling, prepare the sauce.
Add butter and flour to small pot, heat and stir until it is a creamy paste and begins to bubble. Cook for additional minute.
Whisk in milk and allow to come to a simmer while whisking.
Remove sauce from heat.
Whisk in Parmesan (Romano can be used) and pesto until smooth.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Drain pasta and return to large pot.
Chop or shred spinach and add to pasta.
Poor sauce over pasta and mix well.
Serve immediately.
