For breakfast or brunch, and it is easy to make. We always double it and put it in a bigger pan.
Butter a 9 inch square baking pan. Overlap bread slices to fill pan. In a medium bowl, beat together eggs, milk, half and half, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour egg mixture over bread, then cover and refrigerate overnight. Next day remove from refrigerator for 45 minutes before baking. Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, mix butter, brown sugar, and light corn syrup. Spread this mixture evenly over bread. Bake for 45 minutes or until puffed and golden.
