In another bowl, beat butter, sugar, honey and fresh ginger.
In another bowl, beat molasses with 1/2 tsp soda, then add this to the butter/sugar mixture.
Combine remaining soda with 175ml boiling water. Add that to the butter/sugar mixture and mix well.
Add the dry ingredients and fold well, then add eggs.
Bake for about 35 minutes in a loaf tin at 180C
