classic green bean casserole
Prepare oven and baking dish:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat 11- x 7-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Combine ingredients:
Stir together green beans, soup, heavy cream, 1/2 cup of the onions, and 1/4 cup of the cheese in a large bowl.
Add casserole filling to baking dish:
Transfer to an 11- x 7-inch baking dish. Top with remaining 1 cup onions and 1/4 cup cheese.
Bake casserole:
Cover with aluminum foil, and bake in preheated oven until casserole is hot throughout, about 20 minutes. Uncover, and continue to bake until cheese is golden, about 20 minutes. Remove from oven, and let stand 10 minutes. Serve.
