Suggest a better descriptionHeat oil in a pan on high heat (it is ready when a single cumin seed sizzles and opens up without turning black)
Once the oil is ready, you have to work fast (turn down the heat if you are not ready) - it is good to have spices pre-measured and ready to go
Sprinkle Cumin seeds, Turmeric, and Asafoetida and shake the pan to make sure all spices are mixed with the oil
Add frozen green beans and mix with spices
Sprinkle salt and mix
Cover and leave on high heat for 5 minutes
Mix, lower the heat to medium, and cover again for 5 minutes
Add potatoes (optional) and mix well
Cover again and cook on medium heat for 15 minutes
Remove cover, mix and leave it open on medium heat to dry it out
Mix every 5 minutes to make sure it does not burn
It is ready when all beans have turned dark green and potatoes are soft (approx 20-30 minutes)
