Pancakes from scratch
In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. Make a well in the center and add melted butter, milk, egg and vanilla. Whisk until only small lumps remain. Heat griddle to 350. Pour small ladles of batter onto griddle. Flip when bubbles form across the pancake and surface begins to set. Cook for no more than 1 minute after flipping. Serve.
