In a mixing bowl, combine butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla; cream until light and fluffy. Mix in flour.
Pinch off a small piece of dough and flatten them into circles on a ungreased baking sheet, or shape into 1" balls.
Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes, or until creamy tan in color.
Roll in powdered sugar while hot. Cool. Roll in Powdered sugar again.
(Rich crisp cookie).
