Melt butter and allow to cool. Add sugar, molasses and egg. Beat well
Mix together flour, soda, spices and salt then add to first mixture.
Mix well and chill.
Form into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar.
Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
