This is a wonderfully delicious easy-to-bake bread to enjoy while you are having your morning coffee.
Pre-heat oven to 375
In a large bowl gradually add sugar to shortening, creaming until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, beat well then add milk.
In a seperate bowl, blend together flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add to larger bowl and beat together until smooth.
Bake in a lightly grease and flour coated 8x8x2 pan for 20-25 minutes.
Mix together the powdered sugar and cinnamon in a sifter or shaker.
Remove from oven and immediately spread butter or margarine over the top, let sit 5 minutes.
Sprinkle the cinnamon mixture over the top.
Serve warm and enjoy!
