Made this in high school for French class
1. Day before serving: In large bowl, with electric mixer at high speed, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form when beater is slowly raised. Gradually add 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time, beating well after each addition; continue beating until stiff peaks form.
2. In small bowl, with same beater, beat egg yolks with salt until thick and lemon colored. Gradually add remaining sugar beating well after each addition.
3. Gradually beat in lemon juice, melted chocolate, and 1/3 cup cream until mixture is smooth and thickened.
4. Beat remaining cream until stiff. Fold with chocolate mixture into egg whites. Gently turn into 2-quart serving dish, spreading evenly.
5. Refrigerate 24 hours.
6. Day of serving: Decorate top of Mousse with additional whipped cream and semisweet Chocolate Curls if desired.
