Simple baked nachos with seasoned hamburger and lots of cheese
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Saute hamburger and when nearly done add onion, green pepper, canned tomatoes and jalapeno. Season to taste using a prepared Mexican Taco seasoning or spices of Cumin, Chili Powder and Oregano.
Spread tortilla chips on large oval plate. Use a firm, straight chip like Santitas.
Grate the cheese bars. You'll probably have some grated cheese left over after topping the chips.
Top chips with seasoned hamburger. Add any additional chopped items you might like (mushrooms, black olives, peppers, onion, etc.) then top with cheese and green onions. Place large metal cooking sheet on rack below where you will be placing the nacho dish. Bake for 20 minutes uncovered. We want the cheese to melt fully but to not brown.
