Preheat oven to 350F. Cream butter. Add sugars gradually, beating until creamy. Mix in egg, peanut butter, salt and baking soda. Slowly add in flour. Add vanilla and mix well. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on greased cookie sheet. Press falt with floured fork. Bake 10-12 minutes.
