Suggest a better descriptionPreheat oven to 350 degrees
Mix 2 sticks of room temperature butter with sugar; blend until creamy
Mix in eggs 1 egg at a time; careful to mix egg each egg completely until very creamy and smooth
Combine flour and baking powder in a separate bowl; mix with a fork
Gradually add flour mixture & milk; alternating milk & flour mixture slowly to prevent flour dust cloud
Add flavoring of your choice (I like vanilla )
Slowly add cake mixture to a pre-greased cake pan (layer or pound cake pan)
Bake 30-60 minutes or until you can stick a toothpick in the cake & it comes out clean; not wet with cake batter
