Suggest a better descriptionCream margarine, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Now add buttermilk and the sifted flour alternating small amounts at a time. Add salt, cocoa and red food coloring (add the coloring small amounts at a time until well blended). Lastly mix the soda and vinegar and add to the mixture last. Pour into greased and lined cake pans (I usually make 9 in round pans). Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or till cake tests done.
FROSTING - Combine milk and flour in a pan and cook this mixture until very thick. Remove from heat and cool. Beat sugar, butter and vanilla. Now add the cooled milk mixture. Frost cake.
I usually keep this cake refrigerated and take out a few minutes before slicing and serving.
