Grease 2 9" round pans, pre-heat oven to 350
Cream shortening & sugar well. Add eggs & beat.
Make paste of cocoa & red food coloring, add to mixture.
Mix salt, vanilla, & buttermilk together.
Add alternately the 2 mixtures. Mix soda and vinegar and fold into batter.
DON'T OVER MIX!
Bake for 30 minutes.
Beat milk & cream cheese. Mix pudding, mix in fold in whipped topping.
Spread on cake and refrigerate.
