Suggest a better description1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Immerse the leeks in a large bowl of cold water.
3. Lift one leek out and run the cut side under cold running water to remove the grit between the layers.
4. Place in a 9x13" shallow baking dish, cut side up.
5. Repeat with the remaining leeks, arranging them in a tight single layer.
6. Water clinging to leeks is fine.
7. Whisk olive oil, 2 T. wine and 2 T. water in small bowl.
8. Drizzle evenly over the leeks, then season the leeks generously with salt.
9. Cover tightly with foil and bake until very tender, about 45 minutes.
10. Uncover leeks and place salmon fillets on top in a single layer.
11. Sprinkle salt on top of salmon.
12. Place in oven and bake, uncovered, until salmon is almost opaque throughout, 12-15 minutes.
13. Meanwhile, bring the orange juice and remaining 1/4 c. whine to a boil in a small sauce pan.
14. Boil until mixture is reduced to 1/3 c. and the consistency of a glaze, about 10 minutes.
15. Divide the salmon and leeks among serving plates; discard the thyme sprigs.
16. Spoon the orange glaze over the salmon, then spoon the pan juices over the leeks.
17. Sprinkle with thyme leaves and serve.
