Sift together flour, salt, sugar, baking powder in a bowl.
Cut in shortening until mix resembles a coarse meal.
Add milk all at once and stir until all ingredients are moistened.
Turn onto a lightly floured surface, knead gently about 14 times
Roll out into a 3/4 inch thick disc.
Cut into 8 triangles
Place on a greased baking sheet.
Brush each triangle with a little milk and sprinkle lightly with sugar.
Bake at 450 degrees F for 10 minutes or so.
