This is my version of Soya chilli made without having to deep fry the soya chunks. A guilt free flavourful version of my favourite starter.
1. In a pan add 2 cups of water and boil. Add the soya chunks and salt and cook for about 5 mins. Drain the soya chunks and remove excess water.
2. To prepare the sauce base, add 3 tbsp water, 1 tbsp Soya sauce, 1 tbsp Dark Soya sauce(optional), 1 tbsp chilli sauce, 2 tbsp tomato sauce, 1 tsp crushed pepper, 1 tsp chilli flakes, 1 tbsp cornflour and mix well without lumps. The mixture should be in a runny consistency
3. To a pan, add some oil and sauté onions till translucent.
4. Now add garlic and sauté for a minute.
5. Add the cooked soya chunks and sauté for a min and spread them evenly on the pan and let them brown lightly
6. Now add the sauce base. Mix well and cover and cook for about 2-3 minutes
7. Serve hot
