Suggest a better description1. Heat the pan at medium temperature for 2 minutes then dry roast the star anise, dried red chili and cashews until aromatic (3 mins), mixing constantly. Turn off the heat and wait for 2 minutes for the pan to cool down. Remove the cashews and red chili and set aside.
2. Turn on the heat again, cover the bottom of the same pan with a thin layer of water, heat at medium temperature and wait for the water to sizzle. Saute tomatoes for 5 minutes at low-medium heat, stirring frequently.
3. Add the kalabasa and 1 cup water and simmer covered until 3/4 cooked, around 12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Add the sigarilyas/sitaw, red chili, salt and sugar and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Turn off the heat and add the toasted cashews and EVOO.
