Feel free to correct any mistakes and contribute.
1. Pour the flour in a bowl and add butter in it Mix the contents in the bowl until you get a feel of breadcrumbs. I add butter little by little and mix until i get the bread crumbs feeling.
2. Make a well in the mixture and add the vanilla extract, the sultanas and mix. Then add the warm milk little at a time ,and mix.
This is to ensure that you do not go overboard with the milk.
3. Mix well until you get a dough not sticking to your hands. If mistakenly your dough sticks to your hand, sprinkle little flour on the dough and mix.
4. put the dough in the fridge for at least 15 minutes so as to relax the gluten in the dough , this makes the dough have a a bit of stretchy feel when out of the fridge.
5. Turn on the heat of the oven to gas mark 7 and grease the baking tray with butter and heat it a little.
6. Take the dough from the fridge, put a portion on the work floor or chopping board. Sprinkle four on it and work on the dough till its smooth and round with a depth of 3 cm.
7. Using a cutter or any object with a round top to cut the dough to your desire and place on the baking tray. Repeat process until dough is finished.
8. Brush the tops with beaten egg then place in the oven for at least 12 minutes.
9. When ready, serve scones hot or freeze and microwave for later.
