Suggest a better descriptionCut round steak into thin slices, (1/4 inch thick or less), and place with onion slices in shallow baking dish. Blend ginger and sugar. Stir in soy sauce, orange juice, oil and garlic. Pour marinade over meat, coating all slices thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Drain off and reserve marinade. Weave strops of beef back and forth on bamboo or metal skewers. Place skewers on a rack in broiler pan so meat is 4 inches from heat. Broil 6 to 8 minutes more to desired doneness. Serve skewered beef on a bed of hot rice.
Steak can be sliced easily if well chilled or partially frozen.
