A very unique recipe for Green Tomatoes. Found in the yellowing recipes of my MIL.
On it is written "Mrs. Wilmore Wright, June 19th, 1940, TN" This was my first canning attempt,
and are wonderful!
Soak tomatoes in water in which lime has been dissolved for 24 hours. Drain.
Soak in fresh water for 4 hours, changing water every hour. Drain.
2. Make syrup using lime, sugar, ground cloves, ginger, allspice, celery seed, mace, and cinnamon.
Bring to a boiling point. Pour over tomatoes and let stand over night.
3. In morning, boil one hour and seal.
