Start the night before
1. The night before, combine the warm water, sugar and yeast. Let stand for 10 minutes until foamy. Stir in warm milk, melted butter and salt. Beat in flour until smooth.
2. Wrap the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let stand at room temperature overnight (do not refrigerate).
3. Pre-heat waffle maker (setting of 4).
4. While waffle maker is warming, stir in eggs, vanilla extract and baking soda.
5. Use measuring cup to measure out batter. Waffle maker will beep when waffle is done.
Serve with raspberry jam and yogurt or maple syrup.
