1. Wash and drain rice.
2. Combine all ingredients, except almonds and parsley into the slow cooker.
3. Cover and cook on low 4-8 hrs. Do not lift lid for 4 hrs until rice had time to cook.
4. Just before serving, stir in slivered almonds and garnish with fresh parsley.
