Ground turkey provides a lean alternative to ground beef in this chili recipe. Here's a very good, simple turkey chili. It's quite versatile; it can be spiced up further with cayenne pepper and/or jalapenos.
Saute onion and garlic; add turkey and brown. Drain fat.
Add tomatoes and everything except for beans.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 2 hours, adding water if needed. After 1 1/2 hours, add the beans. (Do not add them too early, or they will be mushy.)
Serve with a dollup of sour cream and sharp cheddar cheese
Very good, very versatile ground-turkey-based chili recipe that can be increased or decreased in spiciness per personal taste. Don~quote~quotet skip the sharp cheddar cheese!
