Aussie recipe from Bundaberg - A bit different from the traditional style (Tropical Curry)

"I found the sauce to be to watery and that it did not have enough taste of curry, so I added an extra 2 teaspoons of curry powder with an extra tablespoon of cornflour and 1.5 tablespoons of gravy powder mixed with water and added it slowly.I left out the sultanas and served it with mashed potatoes.Yum " - daylightsun

Original recipe makes 4
8 eachsausages; thin
1 eachOnion
1 cupcarrot; diced
2 cupswater; for beef cubes
2 eachbeef cubes; disolved in water
1 teaspoonCurry powder
2 eachapples
1 cupsultanas
1 cupCelery; diced
1 pinchSalt
1 tablespooncornflour
1 1/4 cupsRice
1 dashmilk; as required

Curried Sausages Preparation

Put sausages in saucepan, cover with cold water.

Bring to boil then drain.

Cook the rice.

Cut sausage into smaller pieces and place in saucepan.

Disolve the beef stock cube in the water (or use ready made stock)

Add all the ingredients except the curry and cornflour.

Make a paste with the curry powder, cornflour and a dash of milk.

Add the paste and cook to thicken the sauce.

Serve with any kind of vegetables or rice.

With only living 50 kms away from Bundaberg I just had to try this recipe and glad I did. Enjoyed it very much, although the sultanas were left out. Also thought this was going to be too watery, but left it to simmer down and turned out just right.
