Banana French Toast

This french toast is a great hit with the kids and adults alike!

"I created a minor adaptation of this recipe, which was absolutely terrific.

I omitted the cinnamon (I think it'd be delicious, but thought our young kids might not like it).

In a small saucepan, I added chopped walnuts to maple syrup, and put it on the stove over very low simmer heat. When the french toast was ready, I topped with powdered sugar and sliced bananas, then the walnut syrup. Fantastic result. Kids and adults all enjoyed it for brunch. Pair with fruit cup, coffee, etc. and you're all set a weekend brunch." - stevemur

I added more bananas due to the fact that people complained the taste wasn't enough- definitely too mooshy, my 'French toast' turned into a mooshy mess but was definitely delicious!! Highly recommend adding a little sugar to the batter- then when finished too with cinnamon and sugar. Next time in going to add walnuts to make it more like a banana bread, yum!

Terrific recipe and easy-to-make. A nice change of pace from our regular recipe.

It was delicious. I also added banana slices on top and drizzled it with Nutella hazelnut chocolate spread.

The bread was certainly edible, but my family still enjoys plain French Toast more.
