"Classic" French toast make in the oven.
Easier than using a griddle, nice crispy edges and stays hot longer.
Preheat oven to 425(F). Melt 2 tbsp butter in a jelly roll pan (with sides). Whisk or beat together the eggs and milk. Make sure the entire bottom of the pan is coated with the melted butter AND spray generously with nonstick cooking spray. Dip bread slices in egg/milk mixture and place in prepared pan. Pour any leftover egg/milk mix on the bread and allow it to soak. With remaining tbsp butter, place a sliver on each piece of bread in pan. Bake 12 min. or until bread is lightly browned on the bottom; flip bread and bake another 5 min or until also browned on top. Serve immediately.
For 8 slices of bread use 3 eggs and 2/3 cup milk.

A variation on this recipe
"Creamy, sweet, crispy and just a little touch salty. Everything blends together beautifully for a mouth-tingling experience!" — Firebyrd
Crockpot French Toast
Personally, I prefer making it this way
"Throw in the pot, go to bed, and wake up to breakfast...a fluffly, bread pudding-souffle like breakfast. Serve with warm syrup!!" — Firebyrd
