Suggest a better descriptionThoroughly brown the meat on all sides in hot fat. Add chopped onions and fry a few minutes. Add water, corcestershire sauce, garlic, bay leaves and seasonings. Cover and simmer for about 1 1/2 hours. Add carrots and potatoes. Cover and cook 30 minutes more. Thicken gravy with flour or a couple teaspoons of flour mixed with a little water and stir into gravy.
