Good, basic, savory dish. A bit salty for my taste but easy to make.

"This was a wonderful dinner but it is very fatty. So I added half and half with a little flour instead of heavy whipping cream and no salt because when you add bacon there is enough salt and half of the bacon it calls for also to add a great flavor and alittle spice I added lemon zest on the top with red pepper. It was fantastic. Tyr it, it is alittle better for you this way. One other thing I did was add whole wheat angel hair pasta instead of rice. HUMMMM Happy Cooking!!!"

Ingredients

2 packages Uncle Bens Garlic & Butter Rice
10 oz Bacon; 1 inch sliced
1 lb Chicken breast; boneless, skinless, sliced
1 teaspoon Garlic
1 cup Heavy cream
1 cup Frozen petite peas; thawed, drained
2 oz Parmesan cheese; shaved
3 Green onions; thinly sliced

Original recipe makes 4 Servings

Preparation

1. Cook rice to package directions.

2. Cook bacon until crisp; drain off all but 2 tbsp. of drippings. Season chicken with salt and pepper as desired. Add chicken, saut until seared on all sides.

3. Add garlic and cream; simmer until it begins to thicken. Add peas, continue to cook until peas are heated through. Stir in enough cheese to thicken to sauce consistency.

4. Serve over rice; garnish with onion; top with cheese (if desired).

Very good! I used whole grain bow tie pasta instead of rice. We really enjoyed this....hubby said it tasted like something from Bertucci's.

Thank you Steve! I made this as written but I think for my personal pref I will make my own garlic butter rice because the uncle bens was too salty and when you combine that with salty bacon it didnt suit my palette. However, the recipe is very good for a simple savory dish, and it has bacon it it. Bacon is where its at!

Holy crap this is delicious...I used a full pack of applewood smoked bacon and more shaved Parmesan that recipe called for but otherwise follow directions. Instant signature recipe for guests when they come over for visits;)

Very tasty! I didnt have chicken but had the other ingredients. I wanted to use up leftover brown rice and turkey bacon. This was so easy to make! So flavorful...I'm sure it will be even better when I make it again with chicken added!

You can consider this an aggless carbonara as it has bacon in the pasta. carbonara refers to a pasta dish with egg and bacon. So it is nammed correcly. And the dish is absolutely simple goodness, thanks for sharing!!

Made this for dinner with a few substitutions. I used half and half and turkey bacon to make it a bit 'healthier' Even my boyfriend, who is extremely picky, said I could make this again.
