Suggest a better descriptionIn a bowl, whisk together 2 cups flour and 1/2 tsp salt. Add shortening, cut it in until mixture is crumbly. Add cold water until mixture forms a ball. Transfer dough to plastic wrap, shape into a 1" thick rectangle. Wrap, refrigerate. *Bring a pot of water to a boil. Fill a bowl with ice water. Score an X on bottom of each peach. Boil each peach 1 min. transfer to ice water. Peel, cut into pieces. *Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a pan, bring peaches, 1 1/4 cups sugar, remaining flour and 1/4 tsp salt to a simmer. Remove from heat, stir in 2 tbs butter until melted. Transfer mixture to a 9x13" baking dish. *On a floured surface, roll dough into an 11x15" rectangle. Cut 6 flower shapes out of center of dough. Lay dough over filling. Fold crust under itself, crimp. Arrange cutout pieces on top of dough. *In a bowl, melt remaining butter. Brush dough with butter, sprinkle with remaining sugar. Bake until dough is golden and cooked through 60 min.
