Delicious and healthy. Use 99% lean ground turkey.
Heat oil in a large stock pot over medium heat. Add onion and saute until soft.
Add garlic and saute until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Add spices and one half of the ground turkey to the pot. Brown the turkey, breaking it up into smaller pieces, until cooked through.
Stir in beans, tomatoes, and chicken broth using a wooden spoon to scrape any browned bits off the bottom.Bring to boil over medium heat, then turn down to simmer.
Form the remainder of the ground turkey into balls about 1-inch in diameter and add to the pot.
Let simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally to prevent burning. Season to taste.
