Ready in 45 minutes
The original recipe from a box of Chex Cereal in the 1950's.
Preheat oven to 275 degrees F. Melt butter in a shallow pan. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt and garlic salt. Add cereal, nuts and pretzels. Mix until all pieces are coated. Place on a shallow baking pan with sides. Bake for 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
Nowadays, I just melt the butter in the microwave, stir in the spices, and then pour evenly over the cereal, nuts, and pretzels in a huge bowl. Still cook it in the oven for the best authentic flavor!!
fjensen1 1y agogreat this is the Grandma's taste i was looking for , we didnt like all the wheat chex so we reduce that and added corn chex its fab and u guys got it right. 5 stars

annieeatonwheaton 2y agoThis is the recipe I have and remember. In fact, I actually just made a batch! I have read "the original Chex mix" recipe on the box and I knew the original did not contain any type of bagel chip. Thank you for posting,
