Brown and drain sausage. Boil water. Add first sausage, soup mix, rice, and water to a 9" x 13" cake pan. Cover with foil. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees or until all water is absorbed and rice is tender. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake uncovered for 5 minutes.
