Combine flour and salt; cut in shortening
beat egg yolk in measuring cup and add enough milk to make 2/3 cup liquid
mix well and stir into flour mixture
on floured surface, roll half the dough to 17 x 12
fit into and up the sides of 15.5 x 10.5 baking pan.
sprinkle with cornflakes
top with apples that have been combined with sugar and cinnamon.
Roll remaining dough to 15.5 x 10.5 rectangle and place over apples.
seal edges
cut slits on top
bake 50 minutes
combine powdered sugar, milk and almond flavoring.
Drizzle over danish
Sprinkle with sliced almonds
