Cream sugar and butter, mix eggs and milk, set aside, mix flour, cornmeal, salt, and baking powder. Add 1/4 wet mix to butter and sugar, followed by 1/4 dry mix until done. Pour into 9x14 baking dish, bake at 400 degrees approximately 30 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Can sub all or part buttermilk for milk, add cayenne, etc.
