in mixer with paddle attachment, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy on medium high
add eggs, one at a time, and blend thoroughly, scraping down the sides as needed
reduce speed to low and add molasses, spices and salt
mix until well combined
with mixer on low speed, add flour mixture until thoroughly combined
divide the dough into thirds, wrap in plastic and refrigerate for at least one hour
preheat oven to 350 and position rack in center
prepare a clean work surface with flour and roll out the dough to your desired thickness and add flour to the top to prevent it from sticking to your rolling pin
cut using gingerbread cutters
place on ungreased sheet
bake cookies in oven until slightly brown around the edges(8-10) minutes
transfer to wire rack and let cool
